ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
It was once said that “a portrait is a frozen moment in history”, if that is true then my first photographic assignment was as far from portraiture as you can get. It was a football match between Tottenham Hotspur and Swindon Town and what followed was an exciting, highly charged career working as a sports photographer.
The early 90's saw photography go through some radical changes. This started with the introduction of digital cameras which quickly saw the computer replace the darkroom and traditional methods of post production change overnight. These events changed the way photojournalism would work forever.
September 2003 my wife gave birth to our daughter Amelia Rosie which saw me reach for my camera and re-direct my attention from the pitch to the much quieter surroundings of a studio. As well as portraits I found myself taking bookings to cover weddings and various corporate and private events, this marked the birth of Shoot Me Photography.
